The German shepherd is a breed of dogs that originated in German. These are usually medium to large-sized. This breed had the name 'Alsation' in the UK. It was called alsation between 1914 to 1977 then again it got its name back i.e. german shepherd. It is also known as alsation wolf-dog, Berger Alleman, Deutscher, Schafer und.

The German shepherd is famous for their specific traits like intelligence, loyalty, alertness, confidence, watchfulness, courage. And for these reasons, these are mostly liked by young boys in Pakistan. But are also kept in families and families feel safe with them. Their life ranges from 9 to 13 years.

Most people pet them from infancy, and then these dogs live their whole life with them as family members. People who are fond of petting dogs mostly know about german shepherd and search for them in nearby areas. In Pakistan, they can be bought online but are not available easily in every pet shop.

But for puppies, walk should not be more than five minutes per month according to age.

An adult dog may live alone at home for about 4 to 6 hours, but care has to be taken since they have less bowel capacity and are not happy if left alone.

In Pakistan, the army dog breeding training center and school (ADBTCAndS) is present, which was founded in 1952. Its mission is to breed, rear, train, and issue trained dogs to units. It is also responsible for the training of soldiers and officers in dog courses. It was founded by 114 people and had 292 dogs.

In 1965 the number of members was reduced to 16 persons and 63 dogs but again in 1966-67, the number was increased or raised to 50 persons and 100 dogs. This center is situated at a distance of 4km from railway Station, Rawalpindi and approximately 10 on from Airport, Islamabad.german shepherd dogs are selected on proper criteria.
