AMD Radeon RX 480 Overview
AMD did an excellent job of producing a card such as this. This card is much better than all the cards out there from the third party. This card is such that it does not provide much hassle to the user. However, it does not differs from all the other products out there.
Functions
Weight
The weight of the AMD Radeon RX 480 in grams is 685, and in ounces, it is only 24.1. The card is long by 24.2cm and wide by 3.5cm. The height of this card is of 10.5cm/
Display
When people look at it closely for the first time, they often mistake it with the Fury Nano R9 Radeon of the AMD. However, when they look at it closely, they realize that there are a lot of dissimilarities in it as compared to the card of the previous model.
Upon seeing it, nobody can tell that it is designed in a multi-part way. It is inside of a plastic body that is black coloured and is fixed with four screws too. Right next to the logo of the Radeon, there is a connector of power for the auxiliary of six-pin that is singular.
Because of the rear end of this Radeon that is fully closed, the air is flown out through the brackets. This is beneficial in not letting any of the products to be heated up. The output of DVI is eliminated by the AMD from the bracket of output. This helps to make space for the holes of ventilation.
Up four monitors can be attached with the help of the display ports that are three in number. It can also be connected with the help of connectors and an interface of 2.0 for the HDMI.
Results of Power
The power consumption of the card is still over 150W even after rearranging the drivers and enabling the compatibility mode of the AMD. The card consumes the total energy of 157W while playing the game. However, during the test of stress, it consumed over 158W of power. It cannot consume much more energy too.
If an individual is using a motherboard that is older, it is recommended to use the mode of compatibility for AMD as this will help to avoid problems, and issues in the future.
Temperature
The performance of cooling for the RX 480 is not bad. This card maintains an average frequency of 1225 MHz during the whole process of gaming. And it only drops by only a few MHz.
The reason why this had been done so is because of the limited power energy. The only warm component is the GPU. However, regardless of how this Radeon is, it supports the form factor of the system of cooling even if its components are packed or airy.
Results of Sound
At low speed, the fan of this Radeon makes an unpleasant sound. It sounds like a fan growling and most people find this very distracting and disturbing.
Moreover, there are some parts with a frequency that is very low in the spectrum. The cooling performance of the AMD is tolerable and convincing despite having values that are high of the RPM.
Pros
- It does not take up much space
- There is no direct dissipation of heat
- It does not make much sound, it not too loud even when it is under a significant amount of load
- This Radeon is economical
- A sufficient amount of performance for gaming is provided by it
Cons
- An extra slot is needed to avoid the current specification of the PCIe
Conclusion
This piece of hardware is used for the high performance of gaming and is used by gamers all around the world. This product ensures a quality experience too.
