DJI Mavic 2 Overview
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro was introduced in August 2018 as part of a thrilling dual-act with the Mavic 2 Zoom.
The Mavic series has been around since 2016 and began with the initial Mavic Pro, bringing in a game-changing bendable design that made it much smaller and lightweight than the DJI Phantom lineup.
This is also the first and only drone to launch that was able to turn its 90-degree camera to film in portrait mode.
The drone is a technological marvel, which made it much simpler to soak up the technology commonly used in much larger drones.
Design and Controllers
The Mavic 2 Pro maintains the folding design starred by its predecessor. This enables the drone to halve its transport density, making it the most portable drone with a single-inch detector available. Folding is basic and involves the front arms to be rotated out and the rear arms to be twisted up and down. There's one of four propeller blades in each arm.
The main body of the Mavic 2 Pro is portable and rectangular, with the gimbal and the camera fixed on the front / lower part of the drone. The camera and the gimbal benefit from an elevated position while the drone is positioned on the deck, so there is surface clearance for take-off or landing.
Most camera settings need to be enabled through the app, but the controller also offers 11 direct access functions that allow easy access to a variety of frequently used functions. Many of these can also be programmed as feature buttons on a DSLR or mirrorless camera so that you can adjust the sensor in a way that's good for you and your photography.
Features and Flight
The biggest reason to buy a drone of this type is because of the quality of the images it can take. The Mavic 2 Pro remote control can stay attached to a drone up to 5 miles away, which means that you can make some stunning images from a unique viewpoint without much practice.
For certain situations, when you get too close to an obstacle, the controller will display visual alerts as well as sound audio alerts to let you know of imminent risk, and the drone will accelerate to prevent a collision.
Beyond the security aspects, the Mavic 2 Pro provides various shooting modes and automatic' Intelligent Flight ' modes designed to make it as easy as possible to get different types of clips and videos.
As with any device, it's best to manually approach most techniques by taking control of drone flight, but these automatically generated formats are perfect for newbies to learn their skills.
Superlative Video and Images
The picture quality of the Mavic 2 Pro is very great overall, as long as you don't expect that same standard you would get with a DSLR or a mirrorless camera.
Most drones have a sensor equivalent to that of a cell phone, but thanks to a 20MP one-inch Hasselblad system, the Mavic 2 Pro sensor is far closer to a professional compact in terms of size and overall image resolution.
The picture quality is good enough for long exposures of 16x12 inches without distortion. And while there's some fall in smoothness at the edges of the picture, it's not so bad that it's damaging the image itself.
One of the main components of the drone alongside the sensor and an equal focal length of 28 mm is the customizable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11. It not only means that you can monitor contrast and depth of field, but it also allows you the freedom to capture in aperture priority, shutter priority, or manual setting.
Final Landing!
Mavic 2 Pro is, without any doubt, the best alternative available today for photographers and video creators who need a highly compact drone that can be easily transported with other camera apps.
The Mavic 2 Pro is extremely easy to fly and is capable of creating professional photographs and footage with some of the most innovative flight and camera technology on the competitive drone market today.
