Dslr Camera Overview
DSLR stands for “ Digital Single-lens Reflex," and the DSLR camera is an improved form of its predecessor, the SLR camera, which stood for "Single-lens Reflex." The SLR does not have a digital sensor to record high-quality images and videos like the DSLR.
DSLR is a digital camera that uses a mechanism to reflect light from the camera lens or let light entirely pass onto the image sensor by moving the mirror out of the way.
The DSLR camera is used to capture high-quality pictures or record high-quality videos.
DSLR is now a big trend with numerous brands launching new and advanced models every day by introducing new features in them, giving other brands a hardcore competition.
The product has gained such widespread fame that everyone wants to purchase a DSLR and learn photography instead of hiring a professional photographer.

How does a DSLR work?
When you take a picture, the reflex mirror swings upwards, blocking the vertical pathway and letting the light directly pass through.
Shutter and Image Sensor
Then, the shutter opens up, and the light reaches the image sensor.
The shutter remains open for as long as needed for the image sensor to record the image, then the shutter closes, and the reflex mirror drops back to the 45-degree angle to continue redirecting the light into the viewfinder. Obviously, the process doesn’t stop there.
Next, a lot of complicated image processing happens on the camera.
Features of Most DSLR Cameras
RAW and JPEG Format
Almost all DSLR cameras have a JPEG format for capturing their pictures, as it is considered one of the main formats for capturing images.
The JPEG images are compressed images which take up minimum space.
RAW formatted images taken by the DSLR cameras are unprocessed image files that contain a large amount of image information.
Almost all DSLRs have the option of changing their lenses, meaning you can attach different lenses of different angles of aperture and different zooming capabilities on a single DSLR.
Many DSLRs can capture high-quality HD videos, and in some rare cases even in 4K. The drawback, however, is the need for memory cards with large empty spaces for the videos to be recorded by the DSLR.
ISO Range Mode
ISO range is the measure of how much gain your DSLR adds to your image to make it well exposed and highly detailed.
This is extremely beneficial in low light but an ISO range which is too high might lead to the images captured being grainy and having lots of noise in them.
Auto Focus and Focus points
The auto focus mode uses focus points to keep in focus the elements that are supposed to be in focus when capturing an image.
Increasing the focus points in a DSLR increases that particular DSLR's accuracy.
Depth of Field Preview
This is a button in the DSLR which allows you to set the aperture according to how much of the scene you want in focus before capturing the image.
Full Framed or Crop Framed Sensor
A DSLR having a Full Frame sensor is for a serious photographer who does not want their images cropped.
Cropped Sensor DSLRs would be for non-proffesional photographers, being low to mid-range models and having affordable lenses and accessories. These DSLRs have slight crops on the ends of their photos when they capture their images.
Dust and Water Resistant
Some DSLRs are Dust and Water resistant.
Almost all DSLRs have built-in flash to take pictures in low light.
Live View is a feature in some DSLRs which lets you see the image you are capturing through its LCD screen.
Some DSLRs are touch screen.
