HP Printer Toner Overview
Hewlett-Packard or HP is an American based multinational company which is situated in Palo Alto, California. The company started by making computer-related products which consisted mostly of hardware and software components for everyday computer customers, may those be the small-scale business setups or large industrial consumers. The company worked a lot in this field and made its customers from every field. Even the government had its computer purchases from HP. Health and education sectors flourished a lot in the light of these products. The history of the company was not smooth. It started in a single car garage in a home in California. The founders of the company were Bill Hewlett and David Packard. The garage where they started off by making electronic test equipment is now a very historic landmark and is termed as "Birthplace of Silicon Valley". The company then kept on flourishing, and in 2018, its net worth was estimated to be at 58.5 BILLION DOLLARS.
HP PRINTER
The printers that HP makes are widely termed under the trademark of LaserJet. HP has the honour of making the first desktop laser printer. The mechanism of the first printer was provided by Canon, which is a Japanese company. Even as of today, the cartridges and toners are supplied by Canon to HP. LaserJet printers work by passing a strong beam of light to and fro across a hollow drum inside a printer. The mechanism is very much similar to a photocopier machine. Both work by the same principle of optics. The light which is passed to the drum generates a kind of static electricity, the same effect that occurs when you rub the balloon, and it attracts small pieces of paper. In the field of physics, we call it electrostatics. This static charge makes the ink particles stick to the drum, and the ink is then fused to its surface with the help of hot rollers.
HP Toner
The most important component in the machines of photo-copying or printing is a toner. Without a good toner, no matter how expensive or good your machine is, it will be worthless. And that's the primary reason HP produces the top-of-the-art printer toners that are made to last long and provide vivid and clear results. Toner is actually a mixture in the form of a powder that forms the digits and alphabets of a printed text. The words that we actually see on a page after printing is written by the help of a toner. The first HP toners were made primarily of carbon powder and iron oxide, but the problem was that the toner wore off very easily and was not long-lasting.
There were certain modifications that HP did to its toners. It added polypropylene, silica in fumed form and various minerals that were responsible for triboelectrification. Toner is actually in a particle form, but it is melted by the heat of hot rollers, and then it is bonded to the paper. HP colour printer toners are a combination of four basic colours; cyan, magenta, yellow and black, which is abbreviated as CMYK. The function of CMYK is that it can combine and form a very wide range of colour palette that meets the need of the person who wants to colour print his document
SUPPLY
The supply of HP toners is provided by Canon Industries LTD. which is actually a Japanese multinational company that grouped with HP when HP released its first printer. Since then, the supply of toners and its cartridges has been carried out professionally by Canon in a very good number that meets the need of HP's every customer.
TONER CLEAN-UP
HP's toners are very long-lasting and are very strong when applied to paper, but due to any incident, if it gets on your clothes or your fabric, it can be washed off with cold water. Hot water strengthens the toner, and it binds even more strongly if washed with warm water. The particles of the toners range from about 14-16 micrometres, and they may also be bigger. If the toner that a person is using in his printer spills in the laser printer, a special type of vacuum cleaner with an electrically conductive pipe and a very highly efficient HEPA filter. If the toner spill-up is on a large scale, these vacuum cleaners can still be used.
Health Risks
There are certain health risks associated with the use of toners.
- One of its components that are used is carbon black and is thought to be a cancer-causing agent.
- The toner particles can be suspended in the air for a couple of minutes, and this can prove to be a cause for respiratory tract infections that may include emphysema, asthma or any other disease.
Final Verdict
The HP printer toners are the most important components of HP LaserJet Printers and can be packaged in either black form or coloured form depending on the computer. They are very durable and come in a very wide variety of products. The toners work perfectly with the HP printers and will satisfy the customers by providing the best results.
