HTC U11 Overview
HTC Corporation is a Taiwanese consumer electronics company whose headquarters are located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The company started performing its functions as an original design manufacture company that pioneered in manufacturing computer laptops. The company started its evolution in the mobile world by making smartphones that were actually window mobiles. The company has since made a fortune of about 7 Billion Dollars by making and manufacturing machines that were advanced in their tech-ware and also that lasted long and had a futuristic look. It must be mentioned that HTC was once considered to be the top elite class mobile manufacturer, and its devices were a sort of a status symbol.

HTC U11 was a flagship phone released in June 2017. The mobile brought much spotlight to itself, mainly due to the fact that it was a revolution to the older HTC mobiles that were being made. The mobile at that time had a very impressive spec list. It had a very unique and modern design, and it must be mentioned that the camera was also perfect. The very unique and distinguishable feature was its squeezable sides. The squeezable sides were actually for the awakening of the voice search engine that was called AMAZON ALEXA.
DESIGN
The unique design made it time taking for the user to get used to the phone. The U11 came with a very aesthetic finish that had a metal body and was built in a very solid way that was an indicator itself that the phone is long-lasting. The phone came in 5 colours‘ Amazing Silver’, ‘Brilliant Black’, ‘Solar Red’, ‘Ice White’ and ‘Sapphire Blue’. The red variant was, however, the ‘’pick of the people’’.
BUILD
The phone was overall very strongly built with a shiny metallic body. The phone weighed about 5.69 ounces or 169 grams. The phone had an aluminium frame around it. It had a single sim slot, but it could be made dual sim or nano sim because of its hybrid memory card slot.
SCREEN
The phone had a screen of 5.5 inches which was a capacitive touch screen. The screen was an LCD display that supported over 16 million colours. The resolution of the screen was 1440x2560 pixels and an aspect ratio of about 169. The protection of the screen was made possible by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
OPERATING SOFTWARE
The OS of the phone was ANDROID 7.1 (Nougat), which was the latest at that time. But the good thing about its OS was that it could be upgraded to Android 9.0 (PIE) which was the latest operating software of 2018. The chipset was QUALCOMM MSM8998 SNAPDRAGON 835 (10nm). Now, this was the game-changer for HTC as this chipset was very advanced and was built for heavy use purposes. It had an OCTA CORE processor and a GPU that was ADRENO 540.
MEMORY
The phone had an internal memory of 64 GB with 4 gigs of RAM. However, another variant came with 128 Gigabytes and 6 gigabytes of RAM. The dual-sim variant of this phone had a hybrid memory card slot which could be used for expanding the memory in case one is not using 2 sims.
CAMERAS
The main camera was 12MP f/1.7, and it had a dual flash system. It recorded video at 2160p @30fps and 1080p @30/60/120 fps. The front camera was 16MP f/2.0, and it recorded video at 1080p @ 30 frames per second.
BATTERY
The battery was nonremovable 3000 mAh which lasted for about 18 hours with moderate use. It also supported fast charging at 18 watts.
Final Verdict
HTC U11 was a phone of its era, and if one is looking for a medium-range phone with good specs, this is a phone made for that person.
