Lamination Machine Overview
Lamination is a process through which any material can be preserved or covered with a protective layer upon it. For this purpose, Lamination Machines are used, which are often referred to as a Laminator also.
A lamination device is a type of machine that is used to protect documents with the help of a plastic film, usually which is usually applied on both sides of the document.
Features
A Lamination machine is commonly used to provide extra life, durability, and strength to a document or any specific item which goes under the process of lamination.
There are five basic methods through which lamination can take place. These five methods are;
- Low-Temperature Lamination
- Liquid Lamination
- High-Temperature Lamination
- Pressure-Sensitive Lamination and the most commonly used
- Thermal Lamination.
Some special types of lamination machines consist of ferromagnetic elements and vinyl, and this factor also causes the laminated material to be attracted to the magnetic force.
Lamination can be done on photographs, documents, cards, etc., to prevent them from any stains, crease, or just to increase their durability.
Types Of Lamination Machines
The three main types of Lamination machines are; Heated roll laminator, Pouch Laminators, and Cold roll laminators.
Heated Roll Laminators
This is a type of Industrial Lamination. It causes the heated rollers to pass over the lamination glue, which causes it to melt, and then the lamination film is applied to it. This usually works with the help of two rollers with one placed on the top and the other roller placed at the bottom.
It is more often used for the lamination of magazine covers, cards, posters, paperback book covers, and so on.
Pouch Laminators
This one is shaped like a pouch with one its ends sealed. The pouch is covered with a heated stick that attaches to the item as it is laminated.
Cold Roll Laminators
These have easy and simple working, and they normally use plastic lamination films. Also, they do not require a heavy or expensive type of equipment. This type of machine also uses two rollers, which are run through the item.
Pros
