Samsung Earbuds Overview
Samsung is a Multinational South Korean electronics manufacturing company. Samsung manufactures a variety of automotive and commercial electronics, including home appliances, digital media devices, semiconductors, memory chips, and embedded systems, among other things. It has become one of the worldly known technological electronics giants, accounting for almost half of South Korea's total exports. Samsung is best known for its smartphones, smartwatches, and since 2019, for earbuds as well.
Wired earphone days have been long gone. Now, people prefer using cord-free earphones. The cords have been replaced with Bluetooth technology. Users no longer have to be anxious about the cords tangled in the pockets or handbags. Moreover, cordless earphones have become common and can be purchased easily anywhere. They have been trending since 2019, and many small companies are also selling earbuds at a very low price. Still, such earbuds have no warranty, and they get broken easily because of the low-quality material used in the making.
Following are the types of earbuds that Samsung has launched up until now.
Samsung Galaxy Buds
Samsung Electronics released its first-ever cordless earphone in Galaxy bud’s series in March 2019. These Galaxy buds were the successor to the Samsung Galaxy IconX handsfree. IconX was the first Bluetooth paired handsfree manufactured by the company, but it had many defaults. To overcome the problems of IconX, Samsung released a new product line of earphones under the name Galaxy Earbuds.
Galaxy Buds Plus
The next earbuds released by Samsung were on February 14th, 2020. The design of the Galaxy Earbuds plus was similar to that of the original galaxy earbuds. Still, the sound quality, microphone quality, and battery life were much better than that of the original one. The Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds are strikingly similar, albeit the new edition comes in black, white, and light blue, whereas the original galaxy buds come in black, white, yellow, and silver. Everything in both the buds is quite similar, from the polycarbonate build to the silicone wing and ear tips. Both models come with three extra sets of sleeves and tips, making it easier for consumers to find the right fit. This feature enhances convenience and optimizes sound quality by blocking out the outside noise effectively. Galaxy buds plus are a bit pricer than the original galaxy buds.
Galaxy Buds Live
Samsung Galaxy Buds live first introduced on August 5, 2020. The Galaxy Live buds were considered unique for their bean-like shape, which was a major change from the traditional bud. The Galaxy Live Buds were the first Galaxy Buds that included active noise-canceling technology. The Galaxy Live Buds Live earned great popularity and recognition for its bean shape but was criticized for its lack of active noise cancellation. Samsung took a distinctive approach in developing truly wireless earbuds by removing the actual bud and creating a design that shines out in design, structure, and comfort. Though the company has improved a lot and made many changes compared to the first bud, some improvement is still required.
Galaxy Buds Pro
The Samsung galaxy buds pro was released on 15th January 2021. The Buds Pro surpassed the Galaxy Buds Plus in audio quality, head tracking technology, and active noise cancellation. Samsung was greatly appreciated for its enhanced design and upgraded technology. Still, they were also criticized for the poor battery life since the buds only last 5-hours while using active noise cancellation. With the new Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung squeezed in many missing techs. Samsung Galaxy Buds pro also has better water and sweat resistance than its predecessors.
Galaxy Buds 2
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 were released in August 2021. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 were considered the successor of the Samsung Galaxy plus, which were discontinued after some time due to issues in its sound quality. The Samsung galaxy buds 2 has a better sound quality than all other Samsung earbuds. It also has a noise cancellation feature that does not let noise distortion disrupt you. These buds are a bit pricier than all previous galaxy bud models. These galaxy buds are worth the price.
Rumour has it that Samsung will launch a new earbud in 2022, titled Samsung Galaxy Bud Pro 2. It will be a lot better than the previous versions, not only in terms of sound quality but also the company is focusing on improving the most criticized part of the earbud, which is its battery life. The company has been looking for ways to enhance the battery capacity with its next earbud launch.
