Air Conditioner AC Overview
In summer time, it becomes tough to bear the heat during the day and night. Air conditioner reduces the temperature of that installed area, making it bearable and comfortable.
As we see, Air conditioners are effective in hot areas where the temperature is high. In Pakistan, the temperature is usually high in summers; it hits approximately 50 to 52 degrees Celsius.
So at that normal temperature, a fan cannot give any comfort. That's why in Pakistan Air conditioners are frequently used in the summer season.
Basically, an Air conditioner has five primary components that are important in processing
- Evaporator
- Compressor
- Condenser
- Expansion valve
- Refrigerant
The basic working of an Air conditioner is quite simple, An Air conditioner in a room or in a car works by gathering the hot air from a room then that warm air circulates inside the coiling system, there condensation occurs due to that the air gets cool and then that cool air is thrown to the room.
You often noticed that when Air conditioner is working, the outer of AC releases water that is due to the condensation.
There are two kinds of AC
- Window AC
- Split AC
The difference between these two (window air conditioner and split air conditioner) is, Window air conditioners comes in a single unit which is quite easy to install because of the single unit but. In contrast, the split air conditioners comes with two units, one unit for indoor and the other one for outdoor.
In few years back, window air conditioners were in frequent use because at that time, split air conditioners were not introduced.
EER comparison
EER is the Energy Efficient Ratio. Window air conditioners are said to be more energy-consuming because of their mechanism, but when we compare split air conditioners with window AC, split air conditioners are less energy-consuming because of its two units.
These two units are designed to consume less energy and provide more cooling.
In old air conditioners, there was no automatic system or any new technology. The air conditioners were set to a temperature, and then when the temperature was achieved, then the air conditioner was to be turn off manually.
But now the air conditioners are set to a temperature, and when that temperature is achieved, the air conditioner fluctuates its power and maintains that temperature so that you will not turn the air conditioner manually.
Conclusion
As in Pakistan, air conditioners are sold and bought very much in summer because of temperature and comfort. We should search first before purchasing anything. In this era of technology, we should go for energy-saving appliances and less pollution making appliances.
